SouthernFresh Drift Session

The Location

The shoot took place at Atlanta Motor Speedway, south of Atlanta, where car enthusiasts brought their rides for a day of drift sessions on the track. Atlanta Motor Speedway is a well-known racetrack that also hosts NASCAR Cup Series races and other major motorsports events throughout the year. A big, open track like this gives a drone a lot of room to capture the scale and speed of cars moving around the course, something that is hard to get from the ground.

About the Project

This was a drift meet at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2015, where car enthusiasts who love drifting brought their own rides to the track for a day of drift sessions. We captured aerial footage of the action as drivers slid around the speedway. It turned out to be one of our favorite shoots and an early opportunity to get The Georgia Drone's name out there.

Why They Needed It

We were still early in the business and looking for a chance to get our name out there, and a drift meet at Atlanta Motor Speedway gave us the perfect opportunity. Drift meets draw car enthusiasts who want to see every slide and every lap, and aerial video can capture the speed and scale of a motorsports event in a way ground cameras cannot. The shoot became one of our favorite projects and helped put The Georgia Drone on the map.
